  • Experienced educator
  • Specialist coach in training

Over a decade working in education and my own experience of late diagnosis have shaped an approach that is:

  • practical
  • evidence-based
  • informed by personal and professional experience

I have a degree in Psychology and spent over a decade working in education, most recently as Head of Psychology and Higher Education Coordinator. In that role I supported students through A Levels, university applications, and the transition into higher education.

I am currently training as a specialist neurodivergent coach with the Neurodiversity Training Academy, building on my academic and professional foundations with dedicated coaching training and certification.

I was diagnosed with ADHD in my early thirties.

I got great grades, but struggled at school in ways that weren't always visible or understood, and spent years navigating systems and environments not built with my brain in mind. At the time, I didn't have the tools or systems I needed to thrive, and this is still the experience of many neurodivergent children and adults.

Diagnosis brought clarity. It also brought recognition of how much difference the right tools, frameworks, and structures can make: not by changing who you are, but by changing your systems, processes, and (where possible) the environment itself.

That experience sits at the centre of everything I do professionally.

Throughout my career I observed consistent patterns in the students I worked with. The strategies and systems we defaulted to, however well-intentioned, often failed to account for the realities of working memory and cognitive load.

For neurodivergent learners in particular, standard approaches frequently added to confusion and stress rather than reducing it.

When I adjusted the approach to fit how a student actually processed information: prioritising clarity, scaffolding, and structure, the impact was direct and meaningful. Seeing that effect consistently, across students and contexts, made clear that these principles had value well beyond the classroom.

The challenges of working as a neurodivergent educator gave me insight into the world of reasonable adjustments, Access to Work, and how occupational challenges require an understanding of the nature of the work, not just the workplace itself.

My approach is grounded in evidence: drawing on research into executive function, cognitive load, and neurodivergent experience, and practised with compassion.

I don't offer generic productivity 'hacks' or neurotypical strategies repackaged for neurodivergent brains.

Instead, we work together to understand how you actually function, identify what is getting in the way, and build practical systems and structures that work with your brain rather than against it.

Rora Studio offers two streams of support:

Rora Education School-to-university transition support for all students navigating the shift from secondary to higher education. We are experienced in supporting young adults through one of the biggest environmental and cognitive shifts of their lives, including neurodivergent students (diagnosed or self-identifying).

Rora Coaching (launching late 2026) Specialist neurodivergent coaching for adults. It is a welcoming space for women, trans people, and non-binary people, whose experience of being neurodivergent (either diagnosed, or self-identifying) has been shaped by navigating a world not designed with them in mind.

School-to-university transition workshops

Rora Education offers specialist school-to-university transition support for sixth form students, delivered as in-school workshops and structured 1:1 packages. Sessions are designed for the whole cohort but are particularly useful for neurodivergent students; schools can choose whole-cohort or dedicated neurodivergent-focused delivery. Workshops complement rather than duplicate existing UCAS and pastoral provision.

Rora Education is led by Rosie, a former teacher, Head of Psychology and Higher Education Coordinator, with twelve years of experience supporting students through A Levels, university applications, and the transition to higher education.

Rosie holds an enhanced DBS with children's barred list, on the Update Service.

The wider context:
  • ISI and Ofsted assess personal development, including preparation for life beyond school
  • Both assess how effectively schools identify and meet the needs of pupils with SEND
  • Families increasingly expect schools to demonstrate meaningful support for neurodivergent learners, highlighting the importance of proactive support in a school's inclusion provision
The challenge

Many schools (understandably) focus on getting students onto the right course, at the right university; what is harder to prepare students for is what happens once they get there.

The move from school to university brings a significant structural shift: the external scaffolding that has organised students' learning (timetables, teacher oversight, regular deadlines, parental involvement) largely disappears.

The evidence
  • Executive function predicts first-year outcomes across all students: stronger EF at entry means significantly more credits completed (Baars et al., 2015)
  • Students identify a gap: schools' UCAS focus leaves preparation for independent learning largely unaddressed (Worsley et al., 2021)
  • Students with ADHD and autism are consistently more likely to leave before completing their degree (DuPaul et al., 2021)
  • Strong study skills at entry significantly reduce the predictive weight of ADHD on outcomes (Gormley et al., 2016)
  • Executive function is independently predictive and explicitly identified as a target for support before university (DuPaul et al., 2021; Gormley et al., 2018)

The workshop: 2 × 1 hour sessions — in person or online

Please note: sessions will be adapted to the needs of the students, in consultation with the school.
